Fan Walk Update

Hey everyone, this is the latest Fan Walk update, that I recieved by email yesterday.

Hi Lauren! ( yes, for those who don't know me, this is real name, so don't get confused lol )

Thank you for applying to join the exciting Sony Ericsson FanWalk to the MTV EMAs '08.

The FanWalk community has been growing rapidly and over 2000 applicants are currently battling it out to be one of the lucky 100 chosen FanWalkers. Thousands of site visitors per day have been deciding on who stays home and who goes to Liverpool. The heat is on!

Voting’s not over yet! Voting is extended until the 3rd of October and there’s enough time to get more votes to help you get into the next round, casting! (See below). But even if you’re not in the Top 100, you still have a very good chance of being selected to take part in the casting.

Here are just few other great ways to increase your fan support and your chances to be a FanWalker:

* Make and email us your cool videos
* Promote your FanWalker profile on your social networking site (e.g. your Facebook / Bebo / Myspace account)
* Add our special voting application to your Facebook profile so that people can vote for you directly – just click here: http://www.new.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=30482522805
* Why not start a FanWalk group on Facebook?
* Check your profile here: http://www.fanwalk.tv/en_en/main.jsc#voting/1/id=317

THE CASTING

If you make the next round, you may be invited to meet the Sony Ericsson team at the live castings. Here you will be filmed talking about YOU. Alternatively, you may be asked to submit a short film about YOU by using your handset or video camera.

We’ll want you to talk about yourself, your music loves and why you deserve to be one of the 100 committed, die-hard music fans to be selected from across Europe to embark on this historic nine day, 400km FanWalk to the MTV EMAs. From here, just 100 finalists will be selected from across Europe to take part in the FanWalk to the MTV EMAs, which is set to be the music lovers’ event of the year!

The journey starts in London on 29th October and arrives in Liverpool on 6th November for the infamous award ceremony.

Each FanWalker will enjoy:

* Adventures, challenges, parties
* A Sony Ericsson Walkman® phone and FanWalk gear
* Tickets to the MTV EMAs 2008 and aftershow party
* Plus one lucky FanWalker will present an MTV Award on the night to one of the celebrated artists

Look out for announcements over the next coming weeks when the host and live acts will be revealed… So get busy spreading the word for the chance of a lifetime - to be a part of music history!

We wish you the best of luck!

So, there it is! Voting is extended until the 3rd. That's a few extra days to get in as many votes as possible, so people, please DO vote as much as you can! I really appreciate everyone's time and effort.

Hey everyone, just another quick voting tip for you! As more and more people are signing up, it's getting harder to find me on the voting gallery, as some people have found that name search isn't working for them. But, the country search seems to be ok, and, at the moment, thanks to all of you, you can find me on the 'best voted' board to. *smiles*

It's really easy to do. Just go to the main voting page and use the boxes I've circled on the picture, to either choose best voted or the uk to filter down the number of applicants. There's still a long way to go, so please, please keep the votes coming. Thanks eveyone. X

Thursday 21 August 2008

Hi everyone. As promised, here is a short post with some technical advice / help concerning voting.

Fist thing - don't try to link direct to my profile page. I don't know why, but it doesn't register properly if you do. You need to start at the main voting page and find me in the gallery. You don't need to scroll through everyone, just find and click on me for my profile :)
Ok, thanks to Mika from the UK Street Team for this advice on how to make sure your votes count!
* Go to the home page.
* Anywhere on that page, right-click
* Click settings ( if a little box doesn't immediately appear ), and at the bottom of the little box, make sure you are clicked on the folder with a green arrow.
* Where it says "how much information can www.fanwalk.tv store on your computer" move the slider all the way to the left so that it's 0.
* Click close.

There you go! Now you're set up for more voting action! Once you have done this, you can vote 3 times using the back button, and then you need to click of the page by going somewhere else, and then coming back to the main voting page. Refreshing doesn't seem to work, so this way is best.

Thanks once more for all the votes, support and encouragement. You guys rock! XXX
Hey everyone!
First of all, I apologize if any of you have tried to leave a comment and were unable to! The settings were not correct. I've fixed it now so please feel free to add anything, say "hi" or whatever.
But the real reason I'm writing this is to say a MASSIVE thankyou to all of you who are voting for me. I cannot believe how quickly this is getting around, and just how many people are voting. And it's all down to you guys, passing the word around and supporting this. Tokio Hotel fans are so awesome when they put their minds to something!
There's been some technical issues with voting and a few difficulties people have had. There's been alot of help with that posted on the UK Street Team forum and I'm going to gather it all together later today and make another post with it tonight. If you guys are having any issues, let me know by leaving a comment and I'll try and help :-)

Monday 18 August 2008

Well, hello again people, and welcome to my new blog. So, this is really exciting! I have decided to try to win a place on the Sony Ericsson Fanwalk to the 2008 MTV EMA Awards! The walk will begin on October 29th when participants will leave London. They will then walk to Liverpool - yes WALK to Liverpool, to arrive on November 6th, the day of the awards!

The reason I've entered this competition is too represent the Tokio Hotel UK Street Team, show support for the band in Liverpool, and in general show the UK what they've been missing! The UK Street Team have discussed this opportunity in depth, and we all agree that it's something we really want to be represented in - this is an amazing event to be a part of. Think of the coverage we can get for TH with this!

Now the part that where you guys come into it! The only way for me to win a place on this fan walk is if you all vote for me to go! The way it works, is that the 100 people with the most votes get to go. So, I really need your support guys.

It's pretty easy to do. Just go here to the voting gallery....

Voting Gallery

and find me! Then you click 'Go to Liverpool'.

( most of you know me as 'liz' from the street team, but of course, I've had to use my real full name for this )

Unfortunately you can't link directly to profiles, so just find me in the gallery. And you can vote as many times as you like, so whatever time you can spare will be massively appreciated.

Finally, I'll be using this blog to keep you up to date with my progress in this. And of course, if I'm lucky enough to make it through to the final 100, then I'll continue it until after the EMA awards.

Well, that's about it. Sorry it's a bit long winded, but thank you for reading, and please get behind me and the street team and do some voting! Thanks so much everyone.
